Private Label Coffee: How It Works, What It Costs, and the Minimum Order
Private label coffee means we roast the coffee and you put your name on it. At Lafaye the entry point is 30 units, a label design costs 350 PLN net once, and if you only want your logo on our existing artwork, that is 150 PLN net once. Everything below explains how the process runs, what you decide and what we handle.

What private label coffee actually means
Private label, sometimes called white label, is simple: an established roastery produces the coffee, and the product reaches the market under someone else’s brand. The café, hotel, shop or company owns the brand and the customer relationship. The roastery owns the machine, the green coffee contracts and the food safety paperwork.
You are not buying a licence or a franchise. You are buying roasted coffee in packaging that carries your name, at a price per unit, with no obligation to continue.
How it works at Lafaye, step by step
We are a craft roastery in Warsaw, Poland, roasting since 2016. A typical private label order runs like this.
1. You choose the coffee
Single origin, a blend, or a flavoured coffee. If you are unsure, tell us how the coffee will be brewed – espresso machine, filter, vending – and we will narrow it down for you.
2. You choose the packaging size
We pack in 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg pouches, whole bean or ground.
3. We prepare the label
Either a design from scratch in your visual identity, or your logo placed on our existing layout. Both are one-off costs, explained below.
4. We roast to order
Drum roaster, small batches, a profile guided by hand. We cool the beans with air rather than water. Water quenching cools a batch in seconds and adds weight to it, which the buyer then pays for. Air cooling takes longer but the beans keep the oils responsible for crema.
5. We pack and ship
Roasted, labelled and dispatched, normally within 48 hours of roasting. We ship across Poland and to other EU countries on request.
What it costs
There are two numbers to plan for: the one-off label and the price per unit.
The label
- Label design from scratch – 350 PLN net, once. Your colours, your layout, your product description.
- Logo swap on our layout – 150 PLN net, once. Our artwork and copy stay, your logo replaces ours.
Both are charged a single time. Reordering the same coffee later carries no preparation cost at all.
The coffee
Unit price depends on the bean. To give one concrete example, our Coffee Dolce Vita blend in 250 g costs 23,00 PLN net per pouch. A first order of 30 pouches with your logo therefore works out at 690 PLN for the coffee plus 350 PLN for the label design – 1 040 PLN net in total.
Volume brings the unit price down. At 100 pouches we apply a 10% discount, at 200 pouches 25%.

The minimum order: 30 units
Most roasteries quote private label minimums in hundreds of kilograms, which locks out anyone who simply wants their own coffee on the counter. We start at 30 units. That is roughly 7,5 kg in 250 g pouches – a quantity a small café sells in a month and a company can hand out at a single event.
The point of a low minimum is not charity. It lets you test the product with real customers before committing to a pallet.
What you can put your name on
- Six single origin arabicas – Kenya, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Brazilian Santos, Colombia Excelso, Guatemala, India Plantation.
- Five blends – from the mild, chocolate-forward Dolce Vita to strong, robusta-heavy espresso blends for vending and high-volume machines.
- Thirteen flavoured coffees – caramel, hazelnut, vanilla, pistachio, chocolate, orange, Irish cream and more.
- Black and fruit teas in 100 g packs, if you want to widen the range beyond coffee.
Who this is for
Cafés that want their own retail shelf product rather than reselling someone else’s brand. Hotels putting coffee in rooms and conference packs. Online shops building a house brand. Companies ordering branded gifts for staff and clients. Subscription boxes. Roasteries in other countries that need a European production partner.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own artwork?
No. If you have brand guidelines we will follow them. If you only have a logo, we design around it.
How long does a first order take?
Label preparation usually takes a few working days once we have your logo. After approval, roasting and packing add about 48 hours.
Can I change the coffee later?
Yes. The label is tied to your brand, not to one bean. Changing the coffee inside it may require a small artwork update if the description on the pack changes.
Can you ship outside Poland?
Yes, we ship to EU countries. Tell us the destination and quantity and we will include freight in the quote.
Getting a quote
Tell us which coffee interests you, the pack size and roughly how many units you have in mind, and we will send a written quote the same day. You can read more on our private label page, or write directly to nina@lafaye.pl.
